The Village of Hainesville has received the following information from the Illinois Department of Transportation regarding an upcoming road closure that may affect our residents.

Location – IL 120 (Belvidere Rd) at the Wisconsin Central Limited (WCL) crossing west of IL 83 (Barron Blvd), in Grayslake, IL.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), in conjunction with the Wisconsin Central Limited (WCL), is planning to repair the badly deteriorated at-grade railroad crossing on IL 120 (Belvidere Rd) west of IL 83 (Barron Blvd) in Grayslake, IL, Lake County. IL 120 (Milwaukee Avenue) will be fully closed to through traffic at the WCL Railroad tracks. The closure will begin on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 9:00 AM and conclude on or before Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 7:00 AM (Weather Permitting).

The posted vehicle detour route for eastbound traffic on IL 120 (Belvidere Rd) is to proceed north on Hainesville Road, east on Washington St, south on IL 83 (Barron Blvd), back to IL 120 (Belvidere Rd). The posted vehicle detour route for westbound traffic on IL 120 (Belvidere Rd) is to proceed north on IL 83 (Barron Blvd), west on Washington St, south on Hainesville, back to IL 120 (Belvidere Rd).
