Village of Hainesville’s Annual



Saturday, 8 September 2018, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Sunday, 9 September 2018, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Relive history as knowledgeable re-enactors, both military and civilian in period garb, recreate an American Civil War Encampment and Battle in a rural setting in Hainesville, Illinois. Event highlights include: narrated military battles between Union and Confederate forces, military and civilian bivouacs and encampments, historical presentations by such special guests as Abraham Lincoln, Jefferson Davis, General Grant, and Elijah Haines (village founder) among others. There will also be American cricket games and instruction, period music and souvenirs as well as food vendors. Opportunities will exist for visitors to question participants about their knowledge of and their character’s role in that period of our history. Parking and admission to the event are FREE.
