“And So I Stayed” Documentary Screening and Discussion

And So I Stayed is an award-winning documentary that highlights the stories of survivors of domestic violence who were incarcerated after defending themselves against their abusers. Following the screening, a panel discussion will explore potential criminal justice reforms and ways to better support survivors and their families.
Panelists include Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart, Prairie State Legal Services Senior Staff Attorney Courtney Krznarich, and Dr. Margarita Garcia of A Safe Place.
This free event is sponsored by Senator Mary Edly-Allen, Representative Laura Faver Dias, and Representative Joyce Mason, and will be held at the University Center of Lake County.
